Linear integration

After each matching meeting, Circleback creates one Linear issue per action item in the Linear team you pick, with a link back to the meeting, and assigns it to the owner when their email matches a team member. Circleback has no built-in Jira integration. Jira teams can create work items on request through a custom connector in Ask Circleback, or send meeting outcomes through Zapier or Make.

How it works

  1. 1Open Automations in Circleback and select New automation.
  2. 2Run it after every meeting, or only for meetings that match tags, meeting name, participants or invitee email domains.
  3. 3Choose Linear, connect your Linear workspace and pick the team that receives the issues.
  4. 4Choose which action items become issues: those owned by Linear team members, the rest, or both.
  5. 5Save. Issues appear in Linear after each matching meeting, and you can also run the automation by hand.

What you can do with Linear

  • Create one issue per action item in the Linear team you pick, with a link back to the meeting.
  • Assign each issue to its owner when their email matches a member of the Linear team.
  • Run after each meeting that matches your conditions, or run it by hand.
  • Ask Circleback to search issues and create or update issues, projects and comments.

Frequently asked questions

When the action item's owner has the same email as a member of the Linear team, Circleback assigns the issue to them. Other action items become unassigned issues unless you turn that off.

Yes. Conditions limit an automation to meetings with certain tags, meeting names, participants, invitee emails, invitee email domains or number of invitees. Without conditions, it runs after every meeting.

Circleback has no built-in Jira integration, and there are three ways to get meeting follow-ups into Jira. First, add a custom connector in Ask Circleback. Ask Circleback can connect any public remote MCP server using a name, the server's remote MCP URL and an optional OAuth client ID and secret. You review the server's tools before connecting and approve again if they change. As of Oct 2026, Atlassian publishes a remote MCP server that covers Jira at https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp, and an Atlassian organization admin may need to allow the connection first. Once it is connected, you can ask Circleback to create Jira work items from a meeting. This works on request in Ask Circleback. Second, a Zapier automation step sends meeting outcomes to Zapier after each matching meeting, and a Zap can pass them to Jira. Third, a webhook automation step sends meeting outcomes to Make, which can pass them to Jira.
